Getting Started

The big-picture questions first.

What are my options for getting started?
You can purchase the T-shirt by itself, begin with the $20 monthly subscription, begin the $200 citizenship payment series, or choose to make the full payment. The website explains each path before sending you to checkout.
Do I have to make the full payment at once?
No. The program is designed to allow smaller scheduled payments as well as larger payments. A full-payment option is also available for people who prefer to complete the payment portion at one time.
How long does the entire process take?
It depends on the subscription or payment option you choose. Under the $20 monthly subscription, benefits are unlocked as payments accumulate. Under the $200 monthly citizenship plan, each payment covers the next listed stage. Full payment completes the payment requirement, but not the citizenship and passport processing requirements. The final stage is the United States of Africa passport. Allow up to 24 months from payment for the overall process, and remember that passport issuance requires at least two years as a Kingdom of Kush citizen in good standing.

T-Shirt & Shipping

Ordering, delivery, sizing, and shipping.

Can I buy only the T-shirt?
Yes. A T-shirt-only purchase is available separately from the subscription and citizenship payment options.
How long will it take to receive my T-shirt?
From the time we receive your payment, please allow up to 10 days for delivery with standard shipping.
How much is shipping?
Standard shipping currently costs $7.
Can I track my T-shirt shipment?
Yes. You will receive an order confirmation after payment and a tracking email when your T-shirt ships, allowing you to track your shipment.
What sizes are available?
Small (S), Medium (M), Large (L), Extra Large (XL), Double Extra Large (2XL), and Triple Extra Large (3XL).

$20 Monthly Subscription

What do I receive with the $20 monthly subscription?

Payment 1 ($20): Citizen of the United States of Africa T-shirt. Payment 2 ($40 cumulative): Doing Business in Africa e-book. Payment 3 ($60 cumulative): Africa Immigration e-book.

When cumulative payments reach $200, the mandatory background check is covered; at $400, the Kingdom processes the Kingdom of Kush – Bir Tawil Certificate of Citizenship application; at $600, the Kingdom processes the Kingdom of Kush – Bir Tawil Social Security Card; at $800, you receive the physical RFID chip-enabled National ID card; and at $1,000, the Kingdom processes the United States of Africa passport stage. Passport issuance requires citizenship in good standing for at least two years.

Can I cancel the $20 subscription?
Yes. You may cancel at any time before your next monthly payment is due. Cancellation stops future scheduled payments, but does not reverse payments already used for delivered products or completed processing.
Can I move from the $20 subscription to the citizenship payment plan?
Please contact customer support by email or telephone to discuss changing from the $20 monthly subscription to the $200 citizenship plan. Any treatment of prior payments must be reviewed with customer support; crediting prior payments is not automatic.

$200 Citizenship Payment Series

What does each $200 payment cover?

First payment ($200): Mandatory background check, Citizen of the United States of Africa T-shirt, Doing Business in Africa e-book, and Africa Immigration e-book.

Second payment ($400 total): Kingdom of Kush – Bir Tawil Certificate of Citizenship.

Third payment ($600 total): Kingdom of Kush – Bir Tawil Social Security Card.

Fourth payment ($800 total): Physical RFID chip-enabled National ID card, readable by compatible readers.

Fifth and final payment ($1,000 total): Fees paid for processing the United States of Africa passport stage. Applicants must be citizens in good standing for at least two years before issuance.

Do I receive physical documents?
The program describes four documents: a Kingdom of Kush – Bir Tawil Certificate of Citizenship, a Kingdom of Kush – Bir Tawil Social Security Card, a physical RFID chip-enabled National ID card, and, after all eligibility requirements are met, a United States of Africa passport. Background-check results and notifications are provided separately.

Background Checks

Why is a background check required?

The Kingdom of Kush is committed to protecting the integrity of its citizenship program while giving applicants a fair and understanding review. We recognize that historical and continuing racism and discrimination in government, credit-reporting, and criminal-justice systems can leave people of African descent with derogatory records or other blemishes that do not fairly reflect their character.

For that reason, the Kingdom makes every effort to be accommodating, understanding, and fair, rather than automatically rejecting people for minor or explainable problems in their records. Our goal is to approve as many qualified applicants as possible. We are particularly concerned about serious criminal convictions, documented fraud, deliberately falsified information, and other serious findings that could compromise the integrity and security of the Kingdom and its citizens. Every applicant is reviewed individually, and approval cannot be guaranteed.

How long does the background check take?
Background-check processing times vary. The estimated processing period is within 60 days, but no completion date is guaranteed.
Does everyone pass the background check?
No. Most applicants are expected to pass, but approval is not automatic. Serious criminal convictions, documented fraud, falsified information, or other significant disqualifying findings may affect eligibility. The Kingdom recognizes that records may contain errors or reflect discrimination and considers explanations and corrections.
What happens if I do not pass?

In the event you do not pass the background check, you will receive a copy of your background check report. You may contact the Kingdom of Kush to provide explanations regarding derogatory information, identify any inaccuracies, or request a review of the findings. Any rights provided by applicable law to dispute inaccurate background-check information or obtain a corrected report remain fully applicable.

If the decision is upheld, your subscription ends, no additional subscription payments are due, and the Kingdom will not continue the citizenship or passport process. Under the Kingdom's stated policy, payments for benefits already provided or processing already completed, including the background-check fee, are not refunded, subject to applicable law.

What information is required for the background check?

Applicants must provide:

  • Full legal name
  • Telephone number
  • Email address
  • Driver's license number and issuing state or province
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Marital status
  • Any previous legal names
  • Residential addresses for the past five years
  • Disclosure and explanation of any serious criminal convictions
  • Signed background-check authorization

All personal information submitted for the background check will be provided through the designated background-check form to the company responsible for conducting the review. Applicants must submit sensitive personal information only through that designated form, not through ordinary email.

If a Social Security number is required, the background-check organization will request it directly through its designated submission platform. The platform’s security arrangements must be confirmed before applicants submit sensitive information.

Documents & National ID

What is the RFID chip-enabled National ID card?
It is a physical National ID card containing an RFID chip that can communicate with compatible readers.
How long does document production take?
The estimated production time for the Certificate of Citizenship, Social Security Card, and RFID chip-enabled National ID card is one to three months each after the applicable processing stage begins. Passport processing takes longer and is subject to the full-payment and two-year good-standing requirements.
What if my name or information is incorrect on a document?
Please contact customer service. We will correct the information promptly and at no charge.

Passport

When can I become eligible for the passport step?
First, full payment must be received. You must also be a Kingdom of Kush – Bir Tawil citizen in good standing for at least two years before a United States of Africa passport can be issued.
Does Payment 5 mean I receive a passport immediately?
No. The fifth $200 payment completes the $1,000 payment series, but passport issuance is separate and requires at least two years of Kingdom of Kush citizenship in good standing.
Where can the passport be used for international travel?

The Kingdom of Kush identifies Guinea-Bissau, Niger, The Gambia, and Indonesia in connection with its passport recognition efforts. Before traveling, obtain direct confirmation from the relevant immigration or border-control authorities of each destination country that the United States of Africa passport will be accepted at the specific airport or land-border crossing you intend to use.

Travelers should carry their currently recognized passport, such as a valid U.S. passport where applicable, and verify all entry, visa, and travel-document requirements with the destination authorities before traveling. Kingdom citizenship documents do not automatically grant foreign-country immigration, residence, banking, or business rights. Using a document where it is not accepted may result in legal or administrative consequences.

Payments, Larger Payments & Full Payment

Can I make larger payments at any time?
Yes. The program provides an option for participants who prefer to make larger payments rather than remain on the standard monthly schedule.
Can I make the full payment now?
Yes. A full-payment option is available at checkout. If you have already been paying monthly and complete the required balance, monthly subscription payments stop. Previously earned benefits remain available. The full-payment description includes the Citizen of Africa T-shirt, Doing Business in Africa e-book, Africa Immigration e-book, mandatory background check, citizenship papers, and the United States of Africa passport stage. The Kingdom also states that participants will continue to receive instructional materials and information about opportunities to help build the Kingdom. Allow up to 24 months for delivery and processing, subject to the separate two-year citizenship requirement.
Where are payments made?
Purchase and subscription options will link to the appropriate Shopify checkout/product pages.
What payment methods are accepted?
Debit and credit cards are accepted through Shopify checkout. Other payment options, if enabled, will be shown at checkout.
Will I receive a receipt?
Yes. A payment confirmation or receipt will be emailed to the address provided at checkout.

Sovereign Authority and Legal Basis for Passport Issuance

The following records the Kingdom of Kush's stated legal position. These claims are not independently established as international legal conclusions, and issuance does not establish foreign recognition.

The Kingdom of Kush exercises full sovereign authority to determine nationality and issue national passports, consistent with established principles of international law. The Kingdom meets all criteria set forth in Article 1 of the Montevideo Convention (1933): 1. Permanent population 2. Defined territory 3. Effective government 4. Capacity to enter into relations with other states Under Article 3 of the Montevideo Convention, “the political existence of the state is independent of recognition by other states.” Therefore, the Kingdom of Kush’s right to issue passports exists independently of external acknowledgment or approval. Passport issuance constitutes an exclusive act of domestic jurisdiction, enshrined in: Article 2(1), UN Charter: sovereign equality of states Article 2(7), UN Charter: immunity from external interference Permanent Court of Arbitration, Island of Palmas Case (1928) sovereignty entails exclusivity of state functions Accordingly, the Kingdom of Kush’s national passport is a lawful sovereign document. II. ILLEGALITY OF EXTERNAL INTERFERENCE Any action by a foreign state or agency attempting to: impede the Kingdom’s passport operations, delegitimize the passport, penalize individuals for possessing or issuing it, threaten, intimidate, or interfere with officials or partners involved in its administration, constitutes an unlawful intervention in violation of customary international law. This standard is affirmed by the International Court of Justice in Nicaragua v. United States (1986), declaring that: Passport issuance is indisputably such a matter. III. STATE RESPONSIBILITY UNDER ARSIWA Under the Articles on Responsibility of States for Internationally Wrongful Acts (ARSIWA), adopted by the International Law Commission and widely regarded as reflecting customary law: Article 2: An internationally wrongful act occurs when conduct attributable to a state breaches an international obligation. Article 4: Actions of any agency or organ of a state are attributable to that state. Article 12: A breach exists when an act is not in conformity with what is required by international law. Article 41: States must not recognize or assist in maintaining an unlawful situation. Articles 49–54: A state injured by an internationally wrongful act may adopt countermeasures. Thus, interference with the Kingdom of Kush Passport program constitutes an internationally wrongful act. IV. RIGHT TO COUNTERMEASURES In accordance with ARSIWA Articles 49–52, the Kingdom of Kush reserves the right to implement lawful countermeasures proportional to the injury suffered. Such countermeasures may include, without limitation: 1. Diplomatic protests and formal notifications 2. Suspension of bilateral cooperation 3. Reciprocal administrative restrictions 4. Public denunciation of unlawful interference 5. Pursuit of remedies through international bodies or arbitral forums Countermeasures shall remain reversible and strictly aligned with the proportionality requirements articulated under ARSIWA. V. OFFICIAL POSITION OF THE KINGDOM OF KUSH For absolute clarity, the Government of the Kingdom of Kush affirms: 1. The Kingdom’s passport is a lawful act of sovereign authority. 2. Any attempt to criminalize, obstruct, or delegitimize it constitutes an unlawful intervention. 3. Such interference engages the full spectrum of state responsibility under ARSIWA. 4. The Kingdom of Kush will implement appropriate countermeasures as permitted under international law.
